Marie Alsace Galindo is the only licensed-in-Mexico attorney in Michigan certified by the State Bar to advise on Mexican law. She is our international practice advisor for Mexican and Latin American legal and business issues.
Her practice involves advising companies in structuring investment strategies, consulting on business opportunities, establishing and expanding operations in Mexico, and negotiating and documenting Mexico-related transactions.
Marie also specializes in international commercial arbitration; administrative and regulatory issues in Mexico, including processing importation permits for products from China that enter Mexico exempt from countervailing duties; technical regulations for commercializing goods; marking requirements; marketing and advertising law, including false advertising claims; consumer protection litigation and litigation before Mexican health and environmental authorities; copyright and trademark law, including trademark counseling, registrations, license agreements, trademark portfolio management and trademark maintenance both in Mexico and overseas.
Marie has cultivated strong ties with the leading automotive and manufacturing organizations in both the U.S. and in Mexico. She also has experience in a variety of Mexican legal areas including corporate, labor and employment, immigration, and intellectual property law.
Experience
Coordinated the establishment of foreign corporate entities in Mexico, obtaining all necessary permits to carry out business and advise on all business related legal areas, in consistency with multi jurisdictional implications.
Structured investment strategies, consulted on business opportunities, established and expanded operations in Mexico, and negotiated and documented Mexico-related transactions.
Conducted in-house training on all areas related to doing business in Mexico.
Obtained all types of visas for Mexico, including tourist, business, technical, Board members, work permits, change of status, permanent resident, Exit and Re-Entry permits, and renewals.
Provided preventative counseling on sending foreign expatriates to Mexico. Including immigration regulations, as well as labor and tax implication and employer sanctions.
Obtained work visas in other countries such as Brazil, Germany, Belgium, Austria, etc.
