José Javier Bartolomei brings a wide range of corporate finance and bankruptcy experience to his clients. He specializes in troubled automotive supplier workouts and bankruptcies and is experienced in representing creditors and borrowers in structured finance and securitization transactions, as well as distressed credit matters. He counsels creditors, debtors, creditors' committees and others in commercial bankruptcy and out-of-court workouts. His practice includes litigation and transactional work for commercial lenders, banks, finance companies, and automotive manufacturers and suppliers. He has represented clients in the automotive, health care, real estate, oil and gas, swaps, derivatives and securitization industries throughout the duration of his career.
Immediately following law school, Jose served as a law clerk for The Honorable Henry T. Wingate, U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Mississippi. He has practiced bankruptcy and corporate finance law at major law firms in Chicago and Dallas.

- Hospital Bankruptcy Court Sale
Debtor representation of a hospital organization in Texarkana, Texas, resulting in a successful bankruptcy court sale of all of the hospital’s assets and a substantial increase in the stalking horse bid.
- ISDA Swaps and Derivatives Transactions
Counsel to a number of counterparties on ISDA swaps and derivatives transactions.
- Lender and Borrower Asset-Based Lending Deals
Counsel for lenders and borrowers in numerous asset-based lending deals collateralized by real estate, oil and gas, inventory and receivables assets.
- Multi-State Real Estate Developer Debt Representation
Debtor representation of a large multi-state real estate developer in both Texas and Delaware.
- National Mortgage Company Forbearance/ Workout Transactions
Representation of a national mortgage servicing company in numerous forbearance/work-out transactions related to the collapse of the home mortgage securitization industry in the mid-to-late 2000s.
