Gayla M. Houser
Director of Business Development
Gayla Houser works with attorneys and practice group leaders in five countries to identify and implement strategic business growth goals worldwide.
She and the other eight members of the business development team also produce targeted marketing and communication tools and resources; timely seminars and creative client events; plus energetic public relations, leadership and brand building activities. Industry initiatives span global automotive and next generation vehicles; emerging sectors; economic development; and international investment in the U.S., Canada, China, Mexico, India and Poland.
Ms. Houser brought more than 20 years in business association management to Miller Canfield when joining the firm in 2002. She was the President and CEO of the Troy, Michigan Chamber of Commerce for 14 years and Vice President of Detroit's Central Business District Association.
At Miller Canfield, she also helps attorneys align business and professional goals with the leadership needs of business, professional, industry and civic organizations. She is an Oakland Medical Main Street ambassador, a member of INFORUM and recently received the 2012 APACC Advocate of the Year Award from the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce.
She has served on the volunteer boards of the Auburn Hills and Southern Wayne County Chambers of Commerce; the Advisory Council for Automation Alley's International Business Services group; and is helping with the reorganization of the Canada-U.S. Business Association (CUSBA) and the World Affairs Council of Detroit.
