Floyd Gates has more than 16 years of experience as a litigator and a corporate and banking attorney.
From structuring a transaction to recovering assets in the most complex of fraud schemes, Floyd has advised financial institutions, business and insurance carriers throughout the country. The creativity and passion that Floyd brings to his practice have made him the "go to" when it needs to "get done."
His background and experience have made him a creative problem solver and skilled advocate. Before graduating from law school, Floyd served twelve years in the United States Army Reserves as a communications specialist attached to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a legal specialist attached to a Judge Advocate’s (JAG) office.
Also, Floyd is very active in his community as a coach and serving and/or representing various non-profit boards.
Represented syndicated financial institutions in connection with complex excise tax fraud scheme involving numerous competing creditors (including State and Federal authorities) totaling more than of $100,000,000 in claims.
Investigated, recovered and liquidated assets for numerous financial institutions ranging from jet aircraft, helicopters, boats and luxury recreation and motor vehicles.
Managed aviation and avionics company through probate proceedings, NTSB investigation and wrongful death claims; preserved and liquidated aircraft and avionics equipment.
