Betsy Barnes has extensive experience with all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, primarily those for office medical space. In her practice, she negotiates and drafts business organizational documents and condominium documents, as well as purchase, sale, options, and other transaction agreements and related documents. These include loan documents, commercial leases, easements, construction agreements, options, and right of first refusal agreements. Although most of her loan work is on behalf of borrowers, she can also represent lenders.

Because many business clients do not realize how covenants and other provisions in loan documents can affect their continuing operations and organizational structure, Betsy believes an important part of her job is to educate her clients. She helps make them aware of these restrictions, and then skillfully negotiates with the lender so that the covenants can be tailored to suit the client's business plan from an organizational perspective.
